The brake is applied by pushing the control handle directly toward the brake pedal. The accelerator is activated by moving the handle toward the seat, at right angle to the brake movement and parallel, or near parallel, to the rim of the steering wheel.
Generally the weight of the driver's hand and arm is sufficient to maintain a desired speed. Both the brakes and accelerator may be applied at the same time if necessary. This is function is helpful when starting or manoeuvring on severe gradients. |
